Celebrating Chambers Court Redevelopment

At Chambers Court, Hoppe Development envisions a community where families have access to safe, affordable housing rooted in neighborhood history and connected to future opportunity.

Hoppe Development joined community leaders, residents, and project partners on June 4 to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Chambers Court Redevelopment, a transformational investment in North Omaha that will preserve affordable housing, honor the legacy of Senator Ernie Chambers, and revitalize the 16th Street corridor.

Phase One of the redevelopment includes the rehabilitation of 70 existing apartment homes and construction of 61 new affordable housing units, creating a total of 131 homes for households earning up to 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).

The broader redevelopment plan will bring additional housing opportunities, support local economic development, and restore historic properties throughout the neighborhood. Future phases include new market-rate housing, an emerging developer project, and the rehabilitation of the historic Strehlow Garage into a neighborhood-serving commercial space.

"This project is about more than buildings—it's about investing in people, preserving community history, and creating opportunities for future generations," said Jake Hoppe, President of Hoppe Development.

The Chambers Court Redevelopment represents a significant investment in North Omaha and reflects Hoppe Development's ongoing commitment to creating quality housing and stronger communities throughout the Midwest.
