Hoppe Development Featured in the Nebraska Examiner
Hoppe Development was recently featured in the Nebraska Examiner for our groundbreaking approach to affordable housing in suburban Nebraska.
As a Lincoln-based company, we're leading the way with innovative mixed-income housing developments that are changing how communities think about affordable living options.
Breaking New Ground in Papillion
Our latest project, Tallgrass, is a 35-acre mixed-income neighborhood in Papillion that will feature 600 housing units. What makes this development special is its location in one of Nebraska's wealthiest counties, rather than the typical inner-city setting where most affordable housing is built.
As Hoppe Development CEO Jake Hoppe shared with the Nebraska Examiner, our vision is building affordable housing at scale alongside market-rate homes in desirable suburban areas. This approach gives lower-income families better access to quality schools, job opportunities, and community resources.
Our Expert Solutions for the Housing Crisis
As featured speakers at the Reignite2Unite housing summit, we demonstrated our expertise in addressing Nebraska's affordable housing shortage. We've successfully secured funding from multiple sources, including government programs and nonprofit partnerships.
Our proven track record includes the successful Foxtail Meadows development in Lincoln, which offers 650 units for various income levels. As Jake noted in the article, residents can't tell the difference between affordable and market-rate units, showing how well-designed mixed-income communities can work.
Our Partnership-Driven Success
The Tallgrass project showcases our collaborative approach. We're working with Habitat for Humanity of Omaha and Cobalt Credit Union to build 30 affordable row houses for income-eligible buyers. Additional phases will include rental units and upscale market-rate apartments.
With recognition from the Nebraska Examiner and other media outlets, we continue to position ourselves as leaders in innovative housing solutions that benefit entire communities while addressing the state's critical housing needs.
